DVD Back FINAL "No Entry"

This is the back of my DVD i have decided to use a black background again because it contrasts with the front cover and because it is the best colour to use when making a horror film cover. i have once again used a conventional layout of text in the top left corner lots of images in the centre and then the DVD details at the bottom of the page. i have done this to make my DVD look more professional and eye catching. the current images in the boxes are not my own but i am hoping to put my own images on their for my next draft to make it all my own.

DVD Cover Draft 2 "No Entry"

This is the second draft of my DVD cover. the things that i have changed are the name and the colours of the DVD layout i have also used different images to make my DVD cover look more sophisticated and professional. the black background is a conventional colour to use on a horror movie DVD cover, that is the reason why i decided to use this colour. the Main image on the cover is a woman being hung this instantly addresses that it is a horror film because of the type of image. the colours of the image is red and white i have used white because it is the best colour to use on a black background and i have used red because it is the colour of blood which could indicate that it is a horror and also because the colour red means no on most signs. the image that i have used is currently not my own image but i will be taking a lot of inspiration from this image to make it my own and then i will put it on my next draft cover. i have used the typical conventions of having a main image in the centre of the page the title at the top of the page and the age certificate at the bottom right hand corner.

 I like how the image is used as the background.
The bold information is eye catching.
I like the darkness of the picture its haunting.
I like the cast names at the top.
I like the image.
I like the title it fits in well with the genre.
Layout is good i like how the picture dominates.
The colours are fitting for the genre and it looks creepy.

Dislikes:
I think that it needs more info and the page
I think that a different font is needed for the cast members.
Maybe put the cast members names at the bottom of the page instead of at the top.

i have took all of these likes and dislikes into consideration and am currently working on a second draft i have decided to put the cast members at the bottom and change the text style.

poster draft 1

This is the first draft of my poster the image that i have used isn't my own image because i haven't had the chance yet to take my own images but hopefully i will be doing it over the next couple of days. i have gone for the dark background because it is a horror film and i think that the colour black fits the genre best.

The title "No Entry" is in the colours red and white, the reason why i have done this is because usually if you are not allowed to do something or not allowed to go somewhere the sign are usually red and white that is why i have used these colours so people instantly know that they are not allowed.

the image that i have used was taken from the film Friday 13th the reason that i have used this image is because the location is in like a woods which is where my location is in the trailer so i think that an image like this will benefit me so people get an understanding of the location and will hopefully persuade them to watch the film.

Magazine ideas

when it comes to making my magazine front cover one of my main ideas is to have a close up of one of the main characters that is visiting the camp zone the picture will show that he/she is scared and maybe in the reflection of the eye of the character you will be able to see the killer. I got this inspiration from the cover of Scream 1 however you can not see the reflection of someone in the eye. This is the cover of Scream one to show what my idea could potentially look like.

the magazine company that i have decided to use is Empire because they are the number one magazine for advertising movies and i think that it will suit me best to use this one. one good thing about using Empire is they are always changing the colour of their logo to suit the film it is advertising this is a good thing because i can change the logo if i need to although their original colour is red and i think that suits my genre best because it represents blood and also the colour of red usually means it is not allowed for example No Entry.

name negotiation

I have recently had a meeting with all of the members of cast of the film "No Camp Zone" and asked everyone if there was one thing that they would change about the film what would it be. After this discussion we came to a conclusion that the thing that they would change the most would be the name. so that is what we decided to do change the name. the name was given in the first place because it relates to the film. However the name is the most important thing because people will judge your film just by looking at the name if it does not does scary or it sounds cheesy then people will not watch it. After a long discussion we all came to the conclusion that the new name of the film would be No Entry and Trespassers. Then we came to a conclusion and we came up with a final decision my horror film has now been named No Entry.

Even with the change of the name everything will remain the same the plot of the story will not be changed at all the only thing that is changing is the name.

FIlm Interview - James Cummings Killer

This is a interview of the killer of the film James Cummings in this video i have asked him a few questions about the film and if he likes it and if there is anything that he would wish to change. I also ask him other questions such as if he has any plans for the future and if he is going to be in any other films.

Paranormal Activity 3 Trailer

This is the film trailer for the movie Paranormal Activity 3. the main reason why this has inspired me is because it is made like a documentary. This was one of my ideas that i was going to do for my trailer but i have been lead in a different direction because i don't believe that i have the skills to make it look effective and professional without making it look like I'm just messing about and being cheesy. The think i like most about the trailer is the characters and what they wear. In the trailer they dress casual this is because the film is based on just normal people living in a house and they are haunted. I like the idea of casual clothing because my film is just a group of people going on a trip so they are all going to be wearing just casual clothes.

Final Destination Trailer inspiration

This is the trailer for Final Destination. The main reason whay i have chosen this for inspiration is because final destination is such a successful film because of the deaths of the cast. And the trailer is really good for me because they make the trailer so eye catching and interesting without actually show any of the deaths just the build ups. I like this idea because I do not want to show any of my cast getting killed just the build ups this way it keeps my trailer interseting but doesnt give to much of the film away. Same as the all the other trailers I like how the camera is never in one place for too long this is good because the viewer always sees something different and doesnt get bored of the trailer. Iam thinking of doing that idea to make my trailer more eye catching and professional.

Shrooms trailer inspiration

This is the film trailer for the horror film Shrooms. The reason why I am using this trailer for inspiration is because it is about a group of friends that go on a camping trip and then everything starts to go wrong. This is basically the plot of my horror but with a bit of a twist. One other thing I like about the trailer is at the start of the trailer hey are on the way to the site which is good because that is one of the ideas that I had because it gets the viewer fully clear on what is happening and where they are going. Another thing that I like about this trailer is that you do not see the killer and you dont see anyone getting kileed. I like this idea because I think that if you see the killer or someone getting killed it can sometimes give away the film. But it still keeps the viewers interested. The final thing that i like about this trailer is the fast vmovement of the camera. The camera is never in one place for too long. I like this idea becxause it keeps the viewer on egde on keeps them interested. All of these things are something that I would love to take ideas from to include in my trailer.

The Ruins Movie Trailer inspiration

This is the film trailer for the film titled "The Ruins" (2007). The reason this trailer inspires me is because it is about a group of teenage friends that go on a holiday trip and die one by one which is very similar to the plot of my film so it would be a good choice for my film trailer.
I love the idea with the camera in the distance and the shot with the car speeding past, I have had this idea for a film trailer for awhile and this now gives me a better idea of how to do it. I also like how the camera is never focused in one place but always moving to keep the film trailer exciting.
One of the main ideas that I am thinking about trying to use in my film trailer is that you never see the cast getting killed but you do see them getting attacked which excites the viewer but doesn't spoil the film by giving the killer.

Target Audience

In this post I am going to be talking about my target audience.
The target audience for my film is teens and adults I think thgat my will I more likely to be viewed by males because it is a horror and the female audience usually tend to be into films with genres such as romance and comedy.

Poster inspiration

One reason why this has such a good inspiration on me is because i like the idea of having the killer on the front but not being able to see his face as i don't want to give it away. I also like the idea of having the weapon that the killer uses in my case it would be an axed this is because it is like a trademark like if you saw a hook you would no it is " i no what you did last summer" or a claw glove you would know it was Freddy Krueger.

I think this one inspires me the most because of the location of the woods because that is the sort of thing that i would want on my poster i also like the idea of the killer holding the weapon although one of my ideas is not being able to see the killer as i want to keep it a surprise. the last main feature that i like about this poster is the dark lighting i like this idea because you instantly no it is for a horror and i think i will be following this idea because it will make it look more professional and horror like.

I like this poster because they have the image of just the killers weapon which i think is a really good idea because i want to make sure that in my film trailer that the weapon is really emphasised because i want people to recognise my film just by seeing the weapon. if i was to put my weapon on the front cover i think i would make one half of the axe all blooded up and the other half really shiny and in the reflection you can see just a little bit of the killer maybe an eye or something like that.

the reason i like this one so much because if i think that it is not a good idea to put the killer on the front cover i would have the main character as a close up scared to show that it is a horror film and maybe in the eye of the character be able to see the killers weapon.

Magazine inspiration

The first magazine cover is an Empire magazine of Ironman 2 the main reason why i like this magazine so much is because of the way that they have contrasted the image with the title by using the same colour blue as the title as they have used on ironmans body. I really like this idea and am thinking of doing something along the same lines. I also like the idea of having a film reel going through the bottom of the page showing other films that have been released.

The reason why i like this magazine cover so much is because i like the idea of having a close up of the main character, so that the viewer instantly knows what it is i also like the idea of a close up because i think it links with the idea of a horror because i think it adds more tension because you can really see the emotions on Daniels face.

The reason why i like this one so much of captain America is because of how they have linked the background with the film. If there was no images or text on this cover you would still be able to tell what the magazine is advertising. i also like the idea of a medium long shot because if it was just the persons face it doesn't really represent the film that much but with the medium long shot you get to see all of the ammo and equipment which brings it all together. 

The main reason I like this magazine cover so much is because they have had more than one character on the front cover which is one of the ideas that i wish to use. Another reason why i like this cover is because of the film reel at the bottom like i said about another magazine i like this idea to fill the bottom of the page.

No Entry Script Draft 1

Ryan: So wheres this place?
         (car whizzes past) - music blasting out in the car
Katie: Don't actually no sat navs doing all the work, something called the fir tree cottage.
Ryan: Sounds a bit dodgy if you ask me.
Jonny: Guys stop worrying my mate said he's been here loads of times and it's ace.
Ryan: Yeah your right it will be epic, and don't forget we've got enough booze to fill a swimming pool
Jonny: To right we have
   ( car pulls up at some rusty old gates)
Jonny: this is it guys.
Katie: This? It looks a bit..... whats the word?
Ryan: Crap?
Katie: I was going say old but that too.
Ryan: Hey whats that sign say over there?
Jonny: No camp zone, but this is the place guys,I no it.
                                       Night Time
( Everybody sat round a fire having a laugh and a play of the guitar)
(Stacey (Katie) noticing a noise)
Katie: I'll go check it out.
(Screen goes black and a high pitch scream)
(Katie getting dragged away)
(Katie dead in Tractor)
(Killer walks fast past the camera)
(Black screen then all of the details and one last scream)

Plot

The plot of my trailer is a group of teenage friends Samantha Swift (Emma Bailey), Chris Young (Jonathan Moores), Stacey Wilson (Katie McDonald) and Jason Dunn (Ryan Bedson) go on a camping trip that another friend suggested to them. When they arrive they come across a big rusty gate with a sign that reads "No Entry", however they continue to ignore this sign and proceed as normal. Through out the day everything is going to plan and everyone is having a good time until night falls and the gang here a mysterious noise from and old garage and the end of the field Stacey Wilson goes to investigate and surely enough finds something that she as not looking for. At this point she drops the torch and it falls so the light is pointing at the wall, then the camera points to the light on the wall and you see Stacey being dragged away by the killer whist screaming for her life. Then her friends come to her aid only to find he sticking out of a tractor window all blooded up and a mess. Then the trailer ends with the killer brushing past the camera really fast without his face being seen.

Inspiration

•The main reason why I chose to do my film trailer as a horror and based on a camping trip was from the movie shrooms. Shrooms is about a group of teenagers that went to a place to camp to get away for the weekend and during the journey one of the friends took some mushrooms and then she began to see premonitions on how her friends were going to die and that is how it happens in real life.

Mock Up poster cover

This is my first mock up for my horror movie poster "No Camping Zone". the background picture that i have chosen is from a film called Shrooms. the title is my own work and i made it in fireworks and the other images on the poster are from the Internet that i have edited in these include the faces on the tree and the creepy man in the background are all images that i have included myself. i am going to ask my class for feedback on my cover and ask them what changes should be made and hopefully it will adapt into a good and professional poster.

During today's lesson i asked my classmates which ones of my fonts they preferred and over all the one that got the most votes was the forth one down which is good because that is the one that i preferred overall as well.

Font ideas for titles for my movie trailer

these are some of the fonts that i have come up with to see which one i think and other people think will best suit my film in the next lesson i am going to be asking my classmates which one they prefer out of all of them then i will hopefully come up with a final decision on which font to use for my title.
